Synovitis Discussion
Joint inflammation or synovitis is common with arthritis, after a joint
injury or for other obvious reasons. In addition, many cases of synovitis
simply reflect the patient's underlying predisposition to the aches and
pains of life, activity and ageing. Treatment options include
antiinflammatory medication, heat, ice, topical analgesics, therapy,
splinting or local cortisone injection into the joint. Problems include
persistent soreness and possible recurrent episodes in the future.
