Poor localization Discussion
Poor localization of symptoms: Painful disorders of the upper extremity may
be felt in a single location, easily pinpointed by the patient, or may be
felt by the patient over a wide indeterminate area. Unfortunately, patients
who can not put a finger on the single worst area of symptoms have a very
low likelihood of being returned to preinjury status by cortisone injection
or surgical treatment for a presumed localized problem.
