Revascularization is the most urgent step, but should follow steps requiring tourniquet. There is much greater blood loss when debridement follows revascularization. Vein grafts may become redundant and require revision when placed before muscle repairs. It is always more risky to "come back later" to do nerve repairs adjacent to a prior vascular anastomosis.
